Years ago, J.K. Rowling claimed in an interview that she would not be writing any other books about the golden trio. And it's been true so far. Ever since the release of the Deathly Hallow's Rowling has released books for adults, among which The Casual Vacancy and The Cuckoo's Calling. For seven years there have been no new releases about the Harry Potter-world we love so dearly. Until today.
Because on this day, the 8th of July, short story was released on Pottermore about Harry, Ron and Hermione visiting the Quidditch World Cup. Harry is 34, has graying hair and a peculiar scar has made its appearance on his cheek. Even more peculiar, the 1500 word story is written from Rita Skeeter's perspective, which is an interesting choice of perspective but unexpected nonetheless.
Obviously, I don't want to spoil too much so go over to Pottermore and read it there!
J.K. Rowling and her representative claim that a new book-release in the Harry Potter series won't follow this short story, but I as a Potterhead have high hopes that this won't be the last we hear from Rowing in regard to the wizarding world that has taken over our lives.
